La Villette, on the initiative of the Grande Halle and the Cité des 
Sciences et
de l'Industrie, opens up to "electronic arts" by devoting a first biennial 
to them
at the end of September. The Cité de la Musique takes part in the 
adventure, and in
an attempt to question the growing thirst for technology presents an 
exceptional
concert by Kraftwerk, the legendary electronic group founded in Düsseldorf 
which,
in the 1970s, invented the electronic rock whose influence on David Bowie, 
techno,
hip-hop and house is inestimable. In the vein of their legendary album The 
Robots,
Kraftwerk celebrate and question the marriage of man and machine.
Their experimental improvisations, in an atmosphere that is both retro and 
futuristic,
resonate with the calling into question of the "mechanical and robotic 
attitude of
our civilisation".
